We definitely have an exciting year ahead of us! We will soon launch a new design and responsive skin, taking the user experience to the next level. In addition, we are adding new games several times a month so that our players can always enjoy the latest and hottest casino action. On the sportsbook games side, we are preparing to make 10Bet the number 1 betting destination ahead of the World Cup in Russia, with a wealth of new features. Add2Bet enables players to take the cash out value of an active bet and instantly turn it into a double, treble or combo, without staking any extra cash. And there’s also Action Betting, which gives players the chance to make quick bets direct from a push message to their cell phone.
2 – During 2017, gamification became the new buzzword that every site would like to offer. What do you think will be the game changer in 2018?
I think 2018 will see a huge amount of change across the industry, and I have a feeling that many brands will add alternative currencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum as alternative payment methods, now that they’re becoming more accepted by consumers and regulators alike. Gamification will be even more relevant in the new year, and we’ll be rolling out an innovative loyalty program that will enable players to earn game coins while betting on either casino or sports, which can be converted into either cash, bonuses or other rewards. This will make us one of the first brands with an all-inclusive loyalty scheme. But the real game-changer will be how brands continue to develop their UI/UX. Once these two elements are perfectly in synch, the player journey will become smooth and satisfying across the board and I think this has got to be the alpha and omega for all betting sites.
3 – Many new developers have emerged the past year, and their games can be found on many upcoming sites. Will NetEnt, Microgaming and the other giants maintain their lead over the field or do you think the market will open up in 2018? Also, do you have a favorite new developer?
I think the major game developers will stay strong throughout 2018. These providers have years of experience backing them up and that counts for so much in this industry. Last month, Microgaming released their new King Tusk slot which I’m a huge fan of! However, I do think that the newer companies will challenge hard for their share of the market, offering fresh ideas that will appeal to younger players. The big developers will have to stay at the top of their game. I’d have to say that Yggdrasil is my favourite amongst the new crop of developers – I love the look of Orient Express and Reptoids, and I hope to see them live with us and other brands in the very near future.
On Casino, we had a very lucky winner from Austria, who placed a €4.50 mobile bet on Fruits of the Nile, and scooped a massive €63000! It’s a great feeling when one of our Vip loyal casino members bags a life-changing payout – at the end of the day, people come for the thrill but it’s really all about winning big!
5 – How will the market change for online casinos in 2018? Will new regulations affect how operators do business?
With more brands than ever before, competition is set to get even fiercer over the next 12 months. Every operator will have to do their utmost to provide players with the complete gaming package and that’s got to be good for everyone! So many casinos and sportsbooks come and go each year, but having been at the forefront of the online industry since 2003, I believe we have proven ourselves as a trustworthy operator which is here to stay, and where players know exactly what they will get time after time.
6 – Every day, we read more about Bitcoin, its rising price and new regulations or deregulation surrounding it. Do you think we will see more cryptocurrencies supported by online casinos in the coming year? Alternatively, will any other payment method such as WeChat Pay (big in Asia) or any new eWallet finally succeed in Europe, even in our industry?
I definitely agree that we’ll see more casinos accepting cryptocurrencies and I believe the trend will continue for several years. However, there’s probably an upper limit to the market, and I therefore don’t imagine altcoins taking significant share from other, more established payment methods. An interesting point is that India, the world’s largest mixed market economy, has experienced a massive shift from cash over to credit cards – and I think the time is right for the country to assume a more prominent position in the global online economy. We will soon open the doors of 10Bet casino to Indian players, and we’re also preparing to enter the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) and Japanese markets. In Japan, EcoPayz is the most popular payment method, whereas it’s close to non-existent in the Nordics, where credit cards are the go-to deposit method, so there are clearly huge regional differences that operators need to be aware of.
7 – Which casino should our visitors try in 2018? Have you got any new brands coming out?
10Bet is definitely the place to play! We’re about to embark on a major re-branding and I believe the final outcome will really shake up the market.
8 – How many new EU licensed casinos do you estimate will launch in 2018?
That’s a tough one… at first, I wanted to say close to 100, but my final bet is 50 new EU licensed casinos launching in 2018.
